This may be said more often because dual processor MP motherboards are more popular, as of now I am not sure if there is a dual xp board. I do not think there will be much of a difference at all, though the xp chips I hear were fashioned a bit for the xp os not sure though.
I'm guessing it's a dual rig. MP are guaranteed to be SMP capable while the XP are probably not. The reason is because not all L5 bridges are connected on the XP's, so you would have to connect them to make them work. Obviously huge companies don't have the time to sit down unlock them and test them and who knows whether they'll run into problems. The MP also comes factory unlocked. Other than the SMP thing, they are the exact same chip. By the way the XP is and the MP are both 0.18 micron processor. The AMD Thoroughbred is the 0.13 micron processor.
thanks that helps me deside what to do. Any MOBO recommends? ASUS, Abit TYAN?

Try posting in SMP. I'm no expert at the duallies so all I'd do is confuse ya ;)
