Yeah that is what I was afraid of, it says:

Top left: providing overclocks and beyond...

top right: www.overclockers.com

bottom left: 3dmark 2001 team

bottom right: OC3D

my original file is a little bigger and easier to read...

I thought of making the text on the right yellow instead of blue, I was trying to keep with the blue and yellow theme of www.overclockers.com logo.

Well, it needs to say Overclockers.com 3DMark2001 Team if it is a banner like the ones above. But what I am specifically looking for is a logo graphic, like the one Rage3D has (the cirle thingy they use) or our Overclockers.com logo (O/C w/ the lightning bolt. If you do a logo graphic, It doesn't have to have any writing (obviously)...it just needs to represent us, or just look cool as hell! :D

I Like this one....but I would add a picture of a video card faded in the back ground and maybe some binary code.....I lvoe teh black blue and white though....try to keep that as much as possible....If you want I could make thouse changes.... but id take me a while cuz i suck at photshop.

lol, thanks, but the main thing I always hate and think is the foundation of ugliness is crowdiness. I can't find a place to put the binary stuff, maybe either at the top of the 3D, or in the text instead of mumbo jumbo text

Again, the same problem with the video card, no place to put it. It looks way ugly if it's crowded, but I might be able to fit it in under the 3D Mark text, (shrug), I'll give it a try, but I doubt it'll come out nicely

Edit: ATC9001 PMed me with his version of it. Personally I think it's not as good as mine (no offence intended), The binary in the left side is a good idea, that i personally never thought of. The video card in the middle tho, is a bit....hmmm....weird

I don't think it's possible (with my image) to add or remove binary or a vid card pic. I changed the text on the right to make it into binary, but its such a small change, it doesn't make a difference.

ATC's version, the blending is a bit badly done, however. I thought about changing the hue of the video card to match the blue, but I tried that and it didn't work at all. By the time you redice the opacity to blend it into the image, it's already unrecognizable and it ruins the image

Actually, the binary on the right like ATC did was a good idea,
You might actually get a nice look if you can adjust the blending and add a channel and a gradient so the text disapears towards the right. But the difficult thing is to make it so it blends in, and doesn't kill the picture with too many things to see

Nice try ATC, but I already tried to do the video card, and I could never find a way to blend it in my picture, I doubt there is a way.

Anyways, I have it a try, but unfortunetly, Like I said, the vid card in the background is just plain ugly. Evemn when I adjusted the hue, it still looked out of place. Way too crowded...

Anyways, Here's an updated one, I don't think it makes much a difference, but I added in some binary stuff. *shrug*, whatever you like.

Well,... I'm not trying to push my design or anything, I just wasn't sure if anyone noticed but I did put a pic of a graphics card in mine if you look closely you can see on the right side in the background....

I'm still not home yet so no updates for me till tomorrow night most likely... I just wanted to bring that up in case no one had noticed.... Maybe it's to hard to see.. that's why no one saw it ... when I get back I will upload the bigger sized images to my site so you guys can see them better... :beer:

This is semi-unrelated but does anyone hate my avatar? It's been my av for so long that I would hate to be mentally associated to it if everyone hates it. Lol, its no Frodo Baggins, but I have always used it...

nah, it's fine, CEPT for the middle part. It would look nicer if you took out the spotty background, If you want some sort of background, try to blur it a bit, make it less noticable. The text and the spots are competing for your eye's attention lol

You know, I was thinking about the same thing! Yesterday, thought it was missing something in the middle where it was black. I tried to add a grid, but to no avail....hmmm...I'll give it some thought....

i think its just fine. the background is subdued enough to not interfere with the text. the text is pretty large so it shouldn't be hard to distinguish with the background.

i've never played with any of the effects in paint shop b4 so i thought this would give me a chance to try them out. I really dont like my logo...its kinda plain and i think i could have used better colours but i thought it would be cool to use a gif so we could have something going on in the logo. this is mainly to give other people with more experience/skills some ideas. if someone could make the lightning bolt in the oveclockers logo strike or something that would be cool. well here is my (pathetic) first experiment with paint shop and gif making:

However, what I asked for was a logo. Any ideas? Something like Rage3D has, a symbol of their website.

I was thinking when you get a couple you like, perhaps the best thing we could do is set up a poll with say like a final four and let everyone decide, like first one to get 100 or 200 votes.

Yes, I would like to see as many as possible from as many members (or non-members) as we can. The more, the better. We'll take a look at all of them, and decide on one. Even the guys that can't draw so well, or the guys with MSPaint...turn out some ideas! Someone else may be able to help finalize it...

I just can't think of anything for an icon right now, nothing is coming to my mind, so I thought if I did some work on a header, I may think of something. It didn't work, but I thought the header turned out pretty good...

I see, but ya know if you really want someone to makes changes to your file, we need the .PSD So people could mess with the layers, I doubt we would be able to load it on the forum if you like you can send it to my e-mail, NismoN8@aol.com, I'll mess around see if I can think of anything for a Logo :cool:

weeeelllllllll.....like a big dummy, I didn't save the .psp file (I use Paint Shop Pro)! So, I'll have to redo the whole picture. But this may be a good thing, cause I usually do a better job the second time around!. I wanted to post it so that it may give someone an idea...some of mine was made from ideas I got when looking at the other ones posted here. Seems like the designs are getting better as we go...keep posting them!

For the sake of bandwidth, keep the pics really small in size, but keep a more detailed, larger copy on your hdd's ...

I took a class at my JC, but you could easily learn from the book that we used, it's called "adobe Photoshop classroom in a book"

It's about 20 - 25 bux and comes with a CD that has tutorials and stuff it's really helpful once you've gone through it and are thinking of something that you want to do you can just go thru the book or look on the CD...

1001 Free Fonts (http://www.1001freefonts.com) is a good site to get free fonts...I cant remember all my font links, but I have about 4000 fonts (the .ace file I have them in is over 300Mb...)

GoldenTiger, I don't use Photoshop, I use Paint Shop Pro. IMHO, it is just as good as Photoshop, but a lot cheaper. I think where Photoshop gains an advantage would be the plug-in collections that are available. More people write for Photoshop than for PSP...but PSP is a lot easier to work with for a first timer, you should try it out.
