Oh yeah you can cheaply pick up a switchbox that will allow you to run one monitor, keyboard and mouse for 1 or more systems. Typical cheaper units do 2 systems or 4 systems, although you can get some rigs that can do 24 or more. You can get manual switchboxes that run 10-20$ or so but require you to have the switchbox set to the unit when you boot it up so it can find the keyboard and mouse in most cases. Some of the better (re: more expensive) units will keep alive the keyboard and mouse ports and offer other features and will typically run $50-100.

Good luck.

ya you can get an omni cube and spend alot of money or if you are just using the other computer as a slave or server you could just use winvnc to log into the other computer.

I recommend that Omni Cube to anyone using a laptop that shares your monitor. I've seen a lot of the "manual switching" boxes (aka analog) boxes that do very well in the $20 range, but in some cases, especially with lap tops, you get a lot of shadowing. Kinda like looking at a 3D movie w/o the glasses.

Buy the analog switch and try (locally)..........if it doesn't work for you, upgrade to a digital switch.
