Due to the surface area that the Thoroughbred has, it does not overclock very well since there is not enough surface area on the CPU to remove the large amounts of heat that come from the higher clocked core.

Overclockers should stay clear of Thoroughbred untill Barton arrives and untill then, use Palamino processors based on the AROIA Y stepping. On average, this stepping yields amazing stability and overclocking results.

On an XP1700+, most people trust that this CPU will hit 333MHz FSB without a hickup (1.83GHz).

Some people using the XP2100+ and XP2200+ Pallys have even busted the 2GHz barriar and have even gotten close to 2.10GHz on AIR. Truly amazing from .18Micron technology.
