whether is it cheap or X, logitech products always work for me. 100marks out of 100
I'm gonna have to agree with that. Logitech kicks a$$, I was at a LAN party where everyone had M$ Internet KBs, They got jelous becuz while we were playing CS i could change Winamp track with my KB while they were waiting dead.
r u recomending the wireless?

Wireless su** in my opinion! - You will always have this battery problem dansonang mentioned!
I´ve just ordered a "Logitech DUAL Optical" - which is considered as be the best (most precise) mouse today!
I´m using the M$ Internet Keyboard - and it really rocks! Never before had such good keys (if you know what I mean - the keys "handle" superb) - and the few programmable extra keys for the internet and stuff are very useful! And another reason for deciding for that keyboard was the attached palm rest!!!

The microsoft keyboards are pretty nice. However, I spill and am really rough on keyboards, so I just get a $5-10 cheapo that I test to make sure I like. I might go through 2-3 a year.
A good mouse is the microsoft optical or logitech optical. Wireless has the batter problems that I don't want to deal with. Plus, I would probably lose my mouse.
Wireless doesn't suck the Kb and mouse i use (Cordless freedom set) how ever do go through their fair share of batteries about 6months for the Kb and 1 month for the optical mouse. You can always get their wired counterpart. U can't lose as long as u go Logitech.

I would only buy a wireless if it has internal batteries I do not have to change and I could charge it up with a destop charger (something to slot the mouse in) that is connected to the computer via usb ports or any ports
In simple terms charge using power from the computer. no need for batteries

You can get a nice Logitech wired keyboard for abut $13 and their base model optical for around $12. The keyboards have a great feel to them and are reliable, and the mouse has scroll and good feeling buttons plus tracks really well.
If you wanted to go wireless, the batteries actually last quite awhile. You could even invest in some recharchable Alkalines...
However, beware on wireless. Make sure you've got PS2 ports!! The logitech wireless mouse does not like being plugged into a USB port. It's not just the one we have at work, but there is actually documentation on Logitech's site telling you to avoid using USB.
That shouldn't be a problem unless you're still on an AT style system (i.e. no PS2 ports) or one of the new Abit legacy free boards.
I'm considering a wireless combo for one of my systems just for the flexibility of wireless...and if you want that and don't mind spending $80 go for that nice Logitech Optical Freedom black and silver keyboard adn mouse combo....looks sweet!
Ofcourse, thats $80...

BTW, I've had my one logitech keyboard for over a year and a half and I've abused the heck out of it...still works like new and I love the feel to it...

You said you had a wired optical right? Logitech is claiming problems with their wireless mice on the USB ports, and I've seen issues with one here at work.
There should be no issues with wired mice on USB.

Wireless on USB?
Hmm, glad to hear. I only say shy away becuase of the problem I had on an older system and the fact that Logitech themselves had words on their webstie cautioning against the use of USB on the wireless mouse...
What version of the mouseware drivers are you using? I haven't been back to check in awhile for driver updates...would be nice to have it run fine on USB, 'specially since it's got the stinkin USB connector on it!! :D

My keyboard/touchpad combo recently died, so I did some shopping myself. I ended up getting:
1) MS Natural Keyboard Pro (USB & PS/2) It has the ergonomic, split keyboard, a nice key layout, and two USB ports up top to connect your mouse. Also has built-in multimedia keys (volume, winamp, webbrowsing, sleep key, etc.) Right now, they're roughly $70 at BB, and there's a $10 rebate. I've absolutley fallen in love with this keyboard.
2) MS Wheel Mouse Optical. It's wired, so no battery problems, can plug right into the top of the afore-mentioned keyboard, or with a USB-PS/2 adapter.
I've used both together, and they work very well. Completely compatible with Linux, too, might I add, even in USB. (I'm using RH 7.3) I personally recommend shopping for Linux-compatible hardware, even if you don't use it, because you may start at some point.
