Hi all,

I have just read the article
"Heatsink and Watercooling Roundup" (http://www.overclockers.com/articles373/)

I dont know if I anderstand properly the results but :

the best water cooler kit INNOVATEK has a C/W of 0.23 while the best air cooler (COOLER MASTER IHC-H71) has a better C/W : 0.16:eek:

Does this mean that the COOLER MASTER is better than the best water cooling system?

If yes, can I use the COOLER MASTER IHC-H71 with a peltier?

If yes, ;) then what power? 80W 120w?

I plan to use it to cool a PIV 1600 A that I would like to overclock atleast 2400 Mhz.

Thanks

Laurent

No. If you look at the table headings you'll see that the H2O solutions are tested on the DIE simulator, while the aircooling table you've looked at is tested with a P4 mobo 'real life' situation. This means that you cannot compare those two tables.

Slightly below you'll see the aircooling table for the die simulator, where you'll see the best aircooler is now on par with the best watercooler, which is also amazing in itself. Note that the aircooler is equipped with an extreme fan though (noise!).

and those low c/w is only good for cpus that dont put off massive heat, like if you had one putting off massive heat, they wouldnt cool it but the watercooling would...
