Probally does, mine gets really hot. I could only imagine the thing crapping out in the summer months with no ventialtion.

Also I would say it does...that thing gets VERY hot after about 1 hour of intese gaming...

funny story!
well i was modding a light into it! and had pluged it the the fan!
at first it worked fine but the suddenly it stoped wotking???
well anyway now i have to mod a fan into it i guess!

Yes I also would say you need it. My PS2 would freeze from overheating when it was in the cabnet under the TV even though the fan blew out the back. I took it out and it was fine. So I would say you need it. I think he proke the fan when he was modding his PS2. I hope it comes out good,

guys my PS2 has been running no freeze for 2hrs now! and nothing!but im working a fan mod but for now it shall live with this for cooling!
