Hi elitemetalx,

my advise for you is to get the AX-7 and safe the 25$ that you would have to spend additionally to get a SLK-800. I say this because I had a Dynatron aluminium cooler with added 5mm copper plate(epoxied) on the bottom and Delta 60x60x38mm fan ontop of it and I bought the AX-7 because I thought it would let me overclock higher, but nothing changed.
I'd say that the SLK-800 is just overkill for a Tualatin CPU! The AX-7 would already be more than enough! The SLK-800 will cost you 25 bucks more than the AX-7 and won't do much better(perhaps 3-5°C, but no better overclocking).;)

So think about it!

Yeah Tualatins seem to reach a certain limit in terms of the lowest attainable cpu temperature with aircooling. If you're comfortable with what you're getting currently, save the money. If you have the money and you want to see how to compares, it wouldn't hurt to get it, since you're getting something that's top of the line.

Of course, spending loads of money on heatsinks would do no justice if your case cooling is not up to par.
