View Full Version : Can you solder the bridges to unlock an amd cpu??
Do I have to mess with defogger paint and all this junk or can't I jsut solder together all the l1's with electrical tape in between to make sure they don't touchwhile i'm soldering?

You should be able to if you use a low powered solder iron, the heat might damage the cpu. Then again, that doesnt make sense because the cpu puts out 60+ watts of heat whereas the solder iron shouldnt put out that much. I do not know, Im just speculating...even if it goes wrong, you get a spiffy keychain ;)

i tried to solder one my my durons but couldnt manage to solder that neatly and small hehe. maybe if you have one of the tiny tipped irons...

i was able to solder a very tiny lead on a elenco portable lab (DeVry people will know what that is :D ) , it was about the size of the L1 bridges, with a standard sears 40watt iron. but i'm really good with it so, good luck.
To make the tip of the iron smaller, tie (w/ some wire or something) a small sewing needle onto the tip of your iron!
