hey guys im building my first system and my friend referred me to this site to help with my questions. I just bought an abit KR7A MB and am planning on putting an AMD XP 1700 processor in it. With my budget set on $100 for RAM what would be the best way to go? The only extreme thing I do on computers is play CS for 9 hours at a time:) Thank you for any advice given-Nick

You'll be looking for stability over anything else then.

Personally, I would recommend Crucial PC2100 for your machine. It overclocks well, to around 160MHz FSB comfortably (following the usual guidelines!), and will not break the bank!

Crucial PC2100, once overclocked, will keep up easily with any PC2700 RAM you might find, and will do it cheaper.

(I still want a free stick from Crucial for all the free plugs I give them!)
