hi there

i have a P3700@1001 on MSI 6337 815e pro
with a fop38 and generic thermal compoud.
one fan at bottom front. this maxz out at 45C cpu and 30c system. i am sure these could be lowered. i am thinking of lapping the fop38 and maybe some AS when i am finished. can any one give me ideas about ducting and stuff :) and how i can lower temps
thanx

Shesh, somethin aint right, id recheck your thermal paste, you only need a tiny bit, lapping is a good idea though. With my portable heater, er, thunderbird attatched my FOP38 never breaks 41C with prime 95 cranked and thats with generic compound and unlapped sink/chip at 1.92 volts. It may be that you need better case ventillation as well but that depends on the ambient temp, if that 30C case temp is with 24C ambient its probably not all that bad, but if its like 17C ambient its a bit high.

Please see the Dec 26 article on OCer's.com's front page about building your own duct for next to no money.
