What's the quality of Newegg refurbed products? Are they reliable? And why are they usually refurbed?

Do a search for REFURB up above- there have been a lot of threads on this subject recently and all the info you seek is there.:)

I bought three refurb Keyboards for $1.50 each from NewEgg. Two of them worked, one didn't. (My kids are hard on Keyboards, so I end up replacing them fairly regularly).

Put it to you this way, Newegg is awesome....I bought a refurb and it had a small defect, what'd Newegg do? They let me RMA it and they sent me a brand new product that was much more money.
Naturally your milage may vary but Newegg will refund your money if they cant make it right. ;)

Newegg is great. and to answer the second half of your question IMO most of refurbs at newegg are wrong item shipped, factory refurbs or items ignorant people could not get to work. Either way with the price and the return policy you cant go wrong if you dont need it in a hurry.
39 bucks for workign 8k7a+ no shipping. works great.

I have gotten several refurb motherboards and CPUs from Newegg and I have never had a problem with any of them. Most came with all of the accessories.
yep me too, bought a epox 8hka for 5.00 turned out the middle lug on the socket was broke, all i needed was a hsf that used all 3 lugs. :D everything else was in perfect condition.

I've bought 4 motherboards, 2 cdrw's, 2 hard drives, a toshiba 16x DVD, an Enermax 300W Power supply, an Enermax case and my latest purchase an Antec True 480. The only problem I've had was the Antec was DOA. Newegg approved my RMA (within 2 days) and will be sending me a new one back($68 for a new Antec True 480 :) ). You can't beat that. All 4 mobo's came retail packed, the cdrw's and dvd came oem (no cables), the case came with everything, and the 300W Enermax was missing the power cord (I had a spare one anyway). Newegg refurbs make me happy.
good info. im gonna have a look at the refurbs.

Well, I just ordered 2 TH711s $35 each and free shipping!
My first TH711 was $175 I think, I just got 2 of 'em for $100 less

I bought my P3-S 1.4 from newegg refurb for a great price and the cpu works fine but a few pins were bent and I had to straighten them before use. The cpu also still had thermal paste on it so i figure the pins were bent by the guy who tested the cpu.

i just ordered a gigabyte GA-7VRX from them a couple weeks ago. i paid $46, new it's like $90. it didn't come with anything except the board but hey, i download the newest drivers anyway :)
i will definatly buy refurbs from them again. with thier return policy and the great price reduction i'm going to save a lot of money :D
Got a refurb A7V333 in last week I paid $59 for and while it came white-boxed with absolutely no extras (board only), it works perfectly. Other than the 8K7A+ I have, this is the only board that worked that I recieved from the refurb section. Even the 8K7A+ had blown fan headers, but it still worked...and overclocked well.
i too got in on the TH7II's for 35 bucks.
we'll see if it comes with everything.

I got my mobo, but not the memory. The FedEx lady said the other box is probably not due till tomorrow. She was right, the web site says "not due for delivery". It came with the manual, the usb back plate thingy and a headphone back plate thingy(I think that's what it is). I'll test it out whenever I have time this week, woohoo!!!

I got a referb msi k7d master board, and It came in a different box w/ no accessories. Works good, and the only damage I see, is that one of the tabs on the ZIF sockets is a bit marked up, but that's it. The board works great :D

thks for inf already sent of money day before yesterdayfro xp1600 AOIA
hehe I'm Jealous. Us Canadians can't order from NewEgg and I have yet to find prices as low as their referbs. www.ncix.com has referbs but I really don't want to pay $150CND for a referb mobo when I can get a brand new one for $164. NewEgg has it for $49US (~$75CND). :( (Abit KX7-333R)
Well i just bought an MSI K7D master (non L).. I hope it's good! I can't wait to get it. :) Dual AGOIA 1600+'s going in this baby.
i bought one of their refurb A7N266C. came as board only no dolby audio riser card...board works great and runs without a hitch unlike those via boards

I've bought 2 refurb mobos from Newegg. The 8KHA+ came as NIB, with all the cables and accessories and the Asus A7M266-D came in a white box with nothing else, but it is a rev. 1.04 board with working onboard USB. I'm always checking out their refurb section for bargains that I could use.

I got an Enermax 433 watt refurb from newegg couple months back....it's still doing the job.
My rails are 12.3, 5.1, and 3.4. :D
I ordered a refurbished Shuttle AK31 from new egg earlier this year. I was one of the unlucky ones I guess. It worked ok at first then slowly got worse. Now none of the PCI slot's work in it. The board is shot. And it's too late to RMA it.
But I guess if you buy refurbished that's a chance you take. Oh well it was only like 35 buck's or something like that. I still have the board in my wife's school PC and working. I'm going to replace it though soon I hope. The performance is HORRIBLE. It's so slow no matter what I do. I believe the boad is at fault for this. Just does'nt seem to work right.
That being the case. I don't think I'd ever take the chance on buying refurbished again.

Seems like a crapshoot with the newegg refurb products. Most people are happy with the refurb products that they have bought from them.
