finally!!!

today, i ordered every component (in retrospect i think i forgot the power cable:D ) for my new computer!!

i will be upgrading from:
p2 400
128mb ram
12.6gb hdd
12mb voodoo2

to:

512mb Corsair PC3200 DDR-RAM Platinum (v2.1)
3x 40gb IBM 120GXP HDDs (2 in RAID 0, 1 for backup)

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy eX
Lite-On 16x DVD-ROM with Creative Dxr3 Decoder Card (for watching on TV)

whew, that's it...

i'm planning on stealthing all drives and will take pics once i get everything up and running...

will install WinXP and Mandrake Linux (on a 5-10gb partition)...

i figure i'll be folding pretty damn soon, not to mention playing GTA3 and Medal of Honor!!

Wow, nice upgrade indeed! You'll be in heaven for sure with that compared to what you've got. Enjoy assemblying that and pushing it to it's limits.:)

Uhh donīt get three 40 Gb drives, get one 120 Gb drive instead. Cheaper and less noise. RAID in any of itīs forms is completely useless in a home computer. Yes there will be a speed advantage if using RAID 0, but this difference will ONLY show in a benchmark program. For everyday use there is absolutely no difference whatsoever. Also remember that the possiblity of losing your data increases twice when using raid 0.

I'm anxious to see how it does, since its from a batch 1 month newer than my Agoia-9 XP 1800+. Will unlock it in a bit and test it when I get back home from work. Should get in the mail tomorrow and will reach you on Monday I think.
