I am building a new Seti rig and wondering how the SIS 745 chipset compares with the KT266a and kt333 ??
i have a semi friend with a MSI ultra SIS 745 he will sell it for $40 so if it is an ok board for an XP 1800-2000 i will get it...
thanks in advance.

The SiS 745 is, from what I have heard, a good, solid and fast chipset. It supports PC2700 RAM, will suit an AthlonXP perfectly, and has greater communication speed between northbridge and southbridge (as they are one chip). the 745 also runs cooler than the VIA KT266(A) or KT333 :- no fan should be needed on the chipset.
