I have this drive and I need to get some files off it and I've got computers one bootable drive the other not and a network. Is there anyway of changing the boot directory (eg. C:\) to a different letter like G:\ or something?

What OS????
FAt file system are you using, as you still may be able to fox the problem.
As for changing the boot drive, that is done in your BIOS, under boot divices.

When your computer boots it looks in a little bit of disk called the MBR, which is 512 bytes and right at the start of the drive. This tells it what partition to boot. If you use a third party bootloader like System Commander, then you can change which drive/partition is booted.

i would just take the drive that has the files you need and and put it in the other computer...take the files and then put it back...
while its int he other computer...you could prolly format it and stuff if you need to
