View Full Version : bad cpu?
Can a bad CPU cause random reboots? Tested everything except CPU and Mobo to try to fix this problem.

Take everything out and try it except the Videocard, soundcard, and disable anything onboard.
I've tried that, even replaced memory, video card, sound card with working ones and still same problem.
I've encountered random reboots in the past. Turned out my powersuppy was dying.. replaced it and all was fine. I thought it was the cpu originally too.
Did you try a different PSU?
I tried my old antec 300w and a new antec 430w and still the same problem. I have however been running for about 30 min now without a reboot. I shut my water pump off and attached a heasink with fan. Lets see how long that lasts.

Hard Drive? I replaced my other Harddrive that used to do that to me.
Try your IDE cable, the weirdest things happen
Actually I just formatted my HD and installed win98 vice xp and everything is running smooth. Weird!
