View Full Version : GLOBALWIN WON'T FIT ON P3 HELP!!!
My globawin FDP-32 won't lay flush with my p3-700 on my MSI slocket. The edge of the heatsink is held up so only a 1/4 of the chip actually sees heatsink surface, the rest sees daylight. Please advise

Less than total contact between HSF and CPU just can't be permitted with glass slugs. I'd carefully ascertain precisely what the hold up is. Sometimes, it's safe to gently bend capacitors so that they don't interfere. Sometimes a bit of the HS can be cut off, as long as it isn't the crucial contact area. Sometimes a new HSF is the only practical way to address this problem.
