well, i finally got everything for my p4, except the case, and its now running on my desk. System is the one in my sig, just wanted to know what i could expect from this system.

run some benchies and save them. then start your overclock process and get some benchies saved. then post for all to envy :)

yeah its always important to get some benchies at completely stock, alot of people forget that and then don't have a reference point.

so just install drivers and the benchy programs to get the absolute stock results.

it crashed and now it wont turn on... i fear that the mobo died.. it was a newegg refurb... how would i know?

it was on a box, on a foam pad.. nothing happens, the light that says it has power goes on, but thats it.. :(

well a power light is a start.

have you got another PSU you can test with?
it might not have enough to kick it in the guts to get it started.

pull everything out except the ram and cpu. does it boot up?

tried that, i dont think its the PSU. there is a light on the mobo that lights up when you have powe rrunning to it, even when its not on. i sent an RMA request to neweg...

That's a very dumb thing to do.

You dont EVER Run it in the Foam.

why, becuase foam is conductve? didnt think so.. and considering that i've done it before with no ill effects.. what would have been better? a big sheet of metal?
