View Full Version : Z560 install question
hello,
I got one Logitech Z560. I didn't install it until today. And...I cannot find the manual anywhere. And after it seems i've done everything, it still have no sound.
My sound card is Creative Audigy Xgamer.
Here is one of the questions, which hole on the back of Audigy Xgamer I should use. Really dumb question, is z560 "digital" or "analog"?
There are two plugs from the control device of the z560, as the Xgamer's manual said the two holes at left are for "analog". So I've pluged into these two holes. There is no sound.
I've been trying around for a little while. Don't want to contiune without direction.
So, if anyone has those two(z560 and Xgamer) please answer my dumb questions first. I'd like to see full install manual of z560 if possible.
Thanks
NOTE: My Audigy Xgamer is installed correctly.
Let want you know.
I am sure about this because just a while ago i was using a two piece speakers, and there is no sound problem.
So sound card is ok.
Now it's no sound is probably the way i install the z560.
First, theres a green plug and a black plug, they correspond to the same color jacks on the sound card. At least they should, I have a Live X-gamer, shouldnt be different. Next, theres a power switch on the sub woofer on the back. If it's turned on, the volume knob will have a blue LED around it.
these speakers are not digital, so if you have the digital output box checked in the creative surround mixer or the windows volume properties, you will hear nothing.
Oh, lastly, you will know when they start working, as pictures all over your house will begin to shake violently:D

I have the blue lights, and everything else is done.
Just where is that " digital output box"? I cannot find it anywhere.

1. double-click on the volume icon in the task bar, then click the advanced button. There's a check box that says "digital output only."
2. Go to start->programs->creative->sound blaster->surround mixer. Or right click on the audioHQ icon in the taskbar if you have it enabled and go to the surround mixer. On the speakers tab, there's the same check box: "Digital Output Only."
Make sure both are unchecked. I cant think of anything else that could be the problem, I hope this is it. Good luck.
I checked both, they are not checked. But i still have no sound.:(
hmmmmmmmm...
I would just say play around in the sound properties and the creative software, maybe theres a "mute" option checked by mistake.
If you have other speakers, dont change anything about the computer and plug them in, if they work, the problem is with your z560s.
I don't know what else to tell you, though. Maybe someone else will have some ideas. I really hope you get them working, they'll blow you away, I love mine.
good luck, and if someone out there has anything to add, go ahead, he's gotta hear these things:beer:

did you unistall the old driver from the old card?
if you did then cool.
i always do this when my carss dont work
i take them out
then go into the system properties (righ click on my computer then to properties)
then all the sound card devices i see i delete them
then i restart computer(with out sound card in)
then i shut it back down install the card and restart computer
window(if thats the os you are using) will detect the new device and have the driver disk in your cd rom so you can point to it to find the drivers needed.
worth a shot always works for me

I've never installed any other sound card on this system. It's a new system. And also, I've just done a format to the HD and reinstalled everything.
Also, i said my 2-piece old speakers works.
I'll try around. Now i am reinstall the Audigy CD.
Good news!!!!
After reinstall the Audigy CD, it's fixed.
I guess I've chosen "2 speakers" when i installed it first time. So just now when i reinstall it i checked "4 speakers". Now it sounds perfectly.
Audigy Gamer + Z560 = ......you say it:D
Thanks everyone for trying to help me:cool:
awesome, I knew it had to be some little setting somewhere...
I'm glad you got it working, now go get some music to make your walls crumble:D
yeah,
But it's 12:30am here already. Too bad, i cannot set it too loud. I'll really enjoy it during the day.
