Haven't touched a vid card since my Radeon VIVO, and I need a little refresher course: Where is the Video Card BIOS located, Windows or in the System BIOS?

The video card has it's very own BIOS, there's usually a chip on the vid card that looks just like the BIOS chip on your mobo.

Yes, but where is the BIOS accessible from?

its not really accesible, not like the way the motherboard's BIOS is anyway. you need a program to make a copy of your current BIOS in DOS (copy it to a 3.5" disk), then you can load up windows and edit that BIOS and save it back to the 3.5" disk (make sure to keep at least one copy of your original BIOS in case you want to restore it... so save the edited BIOS with a different filename on the 3.5). once you have the edited BIOS on the 3.5 then you can go back to DOS and flash your vid card's BIOS to the edited one.

How do you get into DOS on WinXP?

you have to make an ms dos startup disk, just double click my computer then right click on your A: drive (with a blank or soon to be blank 3.5" disk in), select format and near the bottom of the format options there is an option to "create an ms dos strtup disk", just check that option. copy your vid card falsh utility onto the disk after you make it a startup disk (nvflash for nvidia or flashrom for ATi cards). just reboot the comp with that disk in and you'll be in DOS.
