whassup

after all these posts I've went through I got confused :p
but at the end I figured out that MCX462-U™ (http://216.247.67.106/products/mcx462.asp#) is the best solution,
I have P4 1.7 socket 423
idle cpu temperature is 46/114 degrees
system temperature is 32/89 degrees
room temperature is 25/78

and I hope it'll fit on my
MSI-6339 motherboard (http://www.sharkyextreme.com/hardware/reviews/mainboards/msi_850_pro/5.jpg)
which fan should I get, Delta??
I wanna hear your comments

Thanx

'lo :)
That's one of the best Air cooling heat sinks, specially with Delta 5000rpm fan, don't get MCX 462 though, that's not going to fit on your mobo, get MCX423 with Delta fan, and you'll LOVE IT. Good luck :)

they've changed te model numbers

I've read on their web site http://216.247.67.106/products/mcx462.asp#2

and it says folowing

"Intel® Pentium® 4, compatible with socket 423 and socket 478 motherboards"
"The MCX462-U™ uses extension brackets for installation with Intel\® processor"
"For Intel® Pentium® 4 processors: 2 extension brackets bolt to heatsink and provide compatibility with Pentium® 4 (socket 423 and socket 603) and Xeon® (socket 603) hole patterns."

so I have to find where to buy those brackets

I've seen them on one site but I forgot where:rolleyes:
I think I'll remember
