hey guys, i got my new WC setup running in the basement on my old Duron box for initial testing purposes before i let it graduate to my own box. my question is though that the temps are very jumpy at idle. they range from 32c to 41c in the course of 4 mins or so. is this normal at all? under load for an hour or so, it stables out between 41-42 tops, much less bounce under load. i'm just wondering if i should not be trusting my temp monitor on my mobo? i'm using:
Duron @ 1000
Gemini High Flow
Via Aqua 1300
Serck radiator
Prime 95 for load tests
Temps off Abit KT7A mobo sensor

42c sounds pretty high for duron wc'ing...those temps may be wrong or you might have done something wrong in the cooling department...
that's interesting, i've never heard of "jumpy" temps really. i think when most motherboard temp sensors have problems its just that they read a certain amount above or below the real temp. ive not heard of mobo temp sensors that variate a lot like you are describing. but it could be so. but I am not an water cooling guru so I am interested to know what this problem is about... :)

do keep in mind guys that these temps are with NO fans on the radiator AT ALL. as a matter of fact, its sitting in a very small constricted space, so I'm not worried about 41c temps. i'm just wondering about the bouncy effect on the low end

hmm...i wouldnt worry about it, well do you mean that it actually goes up and down? or it just goes up one then down one then up 2 then down 1 then up 2 ect (or something like that) bc mine does that a lot when its doing a slow climb and i never worry about it (this happens to my friends also)

coo, i wasnt worried either. it bounces around pretty randomly. sometimes up, down, or whatever. but since its not much of an issue i'll take what i can get
