Good LUCK MAN! 1800 should be easy, but I'm sure we'll be seeing you having it up to atleast 1900 mhz by the time your done with it ;)

0213? They're good, but from mine and Emericana's experience they're not the best. We're both having headaches getting it to 1800+, but you can do the 1700's no problem depending on your cooling. I've still havn't even had mine a week though so it's not fully burned in, and I AM getting a new cooler that's on par with the AX-7, and I will be putting my vmod back in once I do, so that could all change.

As of now 1743 is my max stable. I havn't bother OCing and stuff in the past few days, I actually want to use the computer rather than just run burn-in proggies.

Question:

How are you burning in? I mean what voltage are you burning in at ?? I'm trying to burbn mine in at 1.85, do you think I should voltage mod my mobo to go to 2.0 v? I have a 84 cfm 80mm vantec fan and an AX - 7 Cooling it. Temps right now are 48C at the highest load, but mostly at around 45 - 46 C at load.

I would just up it a bit, prime for eight hours (good enough for me), then up it a bit, prime again. Now I'm at 1630 at stock voltage cuz I just don't feel like messing with it now. When the new cooler gets here I'll mess with it more. I'm in no rush.

I am feeling the same way Illah. Family and Business is consuming most of my time so I am done with tweaking for a little while. :)

I hope you get that puppy up to 1800+ Fox! Good Luck let us know how it goes

I have the same stepping from newegg, you can see my specs in my sig, the cpu is rock stable at 1.85volts at its current speed. I can boot at 1800mhz and run windows just fine, however it shows its instability with Prime95 running. I have just ordered a volt mod kit and plan on increaseing the cpu voltage inorder to stabilize the chip. This is all being done on an AX-7 with a 34cfm fan!

ARGHHH!!

i think i lapped my glaciator too much as it isn't putting enough
pressure on the heatsink!!!

if i let it sit it load at 60, if i push it in it goes down to 45.
arghhh!

okay, i think i got a sweet chip!

i'm idleing at 54C but on STOCK voltage i managed to boot
at 10.5 x 175, just couldn't make it to windows. i think it could
be my cooling, guess i'll order an ax-7 tonight :D i hope to get
1.9ghz

do yall think i should get ax-7 or go ahead with watercooling?

go water man i just did wit my friend, its really not that expensive, i mean if u want to buy everything u can get it around 100 bucks total. cheaper if u use homemade goods

my 0213 can boot into windows at 1800mhz with 1.75v but will not be stable at up to 1.98v. i am sure it will be stable at 1800 with 2.0v and water but i dont have that

Water is the only option for high voltages. I run my system with a 2.1v-core under load. More like 2.15 idle. With water i noticed a huge improvement in stablity along with a mcuh higher o/c. I previously had an Alpha Pal 8045 but I was not cutting it. I want to max out my chip, not my cooling. Now I have done that, well almost. Time for more. 1950mhz here I come!

I'm hoping my Dr. Thermal TI-V77L w/ a Vantec tornado will get me 1800-1850. I'm probably gonna find a way to mod the stock Dr. Thermal ~40CFM 70mm fan as an extra exhaust to compensate for the extra heat dissipation. That should have my temps doing good enough to handle my vmod. I swear the AGOIA Y is a hot chip, my AGKGA Y is like 4 C cooler at the same speed and voltage.

I was thinking water but my current upgrade is only $37 shipped. Maybe for the next machine I build I'll transfer all my air cooling crap to that (for my girl) and put some water in mine. My machine is the one in the bedroom so we don't really mind her's being loud.

okay guys, i got a Q

Should i burn in this CPU? i have it at 1.95 vcore and am running
prime 95 torture test. i will leave it on overnight.

i'm loading at 72C, is this dangerous for my CPU, should i stop
now?

hehe, thanks el for pointing the deal out.

should i still be burning in at these temps though???

how high did the 8045 take you?

el
07-31-02, 12:21 AM
yeah I would not use that heatsink 72 load is kinda high! what speed/vcore you running it?

I am 41 under load at 1.82v / 1.4ghz. 0845 is my heatsink. I will overclock but still have four or five machines to put back together before I overclock this one. back up your data and use a different hsf!

Starfoxer

stock 1.4ghz :eh?:

man, no idea wut's up with my glaciator II, used to be awesome,
could i have lapped it too much to where it doesn't get enough
pressure?

oh well, i am looking into getting a watercooling setup! w00t

el

yeah is it still flat? I think that it is so heavy that you should lay the computer on the side and see if that helps. I know it sounds funny but might work. How long did you lap it? sorry to laugh but if you say like 10 hours I am going to die.

Starfoxer
07-31-02, 12:36 AM
hehe, i'd say 5-10 minutes of just lapping. no point in going
longer, had a nice reflective finish too at 600 grit.

oh and good idea but my PC is already on its side!
with no side doors and only 1 fan!!!

el
07-31-02, 12:40 AM
something is wrong cuz 72 is super hot. I would turn off before you fry something. the smoke is the magic part of the chip and if it gets out you can't run the puter anymore.

;)

Starfoxer
07-31-02, 12:43 AM
yup already restarted and set back to stock. idle at 54 sux0rs!
hope i can raise enough $$$ to get water cooling! :D

You can probably bend the HSF clip a little to tighten it up.

el
07-31-02, 12:59 AM
sb means turn off and bend the clip. could email millinium cuz the guy is really cool and will help you if the clip is the problem.

Illah
07-31-02, 02:09 AM
Re-install the sink. You never know, it could be off somehow. Lapping at 600 would take days to lower a slab of copper enough that there would be no pressure on the chip.

If you can't afford water look into a Dr. Thermal Extreme at www.crazypc.com, or even better get the parts seperately (Dr. Thermal TI-V77L & Vantec Tornado) for cheaper at SVC. The thing performs just as well as an AX-7, and if you go through SVC it comes to $29 and change before shipping and tax (if you're a Californian).

Okay, call me an idiot, but what does w00t actually stand for. I know what type of reason you write it but....

w00t w00t thats the sound of the police! lol jk ya starfox thats really hot i got a ax-7 with a 85 cfm earbleeder 1.53@1.800 and i get maxxxx 50C at 100 load for hours, and thats only if its like 100F out side at night time with the window open and a fan pulling air in my room i get like 38C 100 load. and for water cooling ive made 2 watter rigs and both of them seemed to perform just like the air cooling, maby i should try again this time with some better matterials

Starfoxer
07-31-02, 04:58 PM
yea guys, sounds good. i tried to bend it back, but it just made
it worse.

i was gonna go ahead with watercooling but it's either watercooling and wait a month for custom LEXAN 1337 CASE!!
or case and wait a month for watercooling.

and also i'm in the middle of a p4 trade, so i'll let yall know how
it goes. :D

something like that. hope that clears it up for ya :D
