View Full Version : 1/4" fittings are hard to find.
Hello,
I have everything I need to go watercooling but require a pump with 1/4" fittings. Im told these are hard to come by.
Anyways, I cant find any eheim with 1/4" fittings and am told it would be a long wait before I got any peices.
I settled for a Via Aqua 1300 pump (inline). How can I setup the system if the pump comes with 1/2" tubes?

Just wondering why do you want to use 1/4 rather then 3/8 or 1/2.
THe system is made to use 1/4" tubes.
Have you checked your local hardware stores for 1/2 to 1/4 splicers? I Know there are 1/2 to 3/8 splicers, maybe you can get one of those and try to stretch your 1/4 tubing over the 3/8 end.
I understand that it's possible however the fittings for the radiator, reservoir and waterblock are all 1/4" and they have this twist and secure method so the tubes MUST be 1/4"..
SIGH!
Well I can get an eheim after all. Would a 3/8" tube go into a 1/4" fitting

no the tubing will probly not fit, or it will rip. Go to Home Depot, or whatever super-hardware stores you have near you, and go to plumbing, and ask them to build you a 1/4" - 1/2" adapter. They can do it no problem, and they will probly run you about $1.50-$2.

Actually, 1/4" barb fittings are pretty easy to come by, if you are willing to buy online.
Try http://www.mcmaster.com/catalog/108/html/0105.html
A pack of 10 1/4" tube to 1/2" NPT adapters runs under $4.00.
