It must be some kind of error. Actually there is a red light indicating that there is ome eror in EMIII. Try to close EMIII and open it again.

If you look one of the boxes also have a red status the client got stuck at 100 but that is fixed now.

Ok, but what happens if you close the program and opens it again?

What he meant to say is if you aren't then you should be. :)

Well he posted this earlier in our race post:

so i guess that could be it - doesn't explain why everytime i start EMIII i get 662.65 points displayed tho - as soon as i double-click it goes and finds my correct score - weird

Thats got to be it. i turned the computer over about 2 hours before and I never thought that EMIII would change wth the user name in the client. I will be putting another 1.2GHz PIII shortley under OC3d I should be turning in at least 7 points tommorow morning for you guys.

Edit: 1.2GHz added 3 points comming your way at midnight.:D

I'll be sending 6 points your way when my PII 400 finishes this P146, on the 3rd of August is its projected date.;)

Nah, thats my favorite machine, I like it more than I like my dads P4, and even more than the first layer of my Yattamonster.:) That thing will be folding on the day Stanford announces that the project is over.:D And after that, it will be a linux router or file server or something.;)

meaning that no matter if it folded 24/7 the units would be too big and it wouldn't be able to turn them in on time. kinda like trying to fold on a p66 today;)

I thought the deadlines were always set according to how long a Pentium 200Mhz CPU took to fold the work unit. Anyways, if my CPU dies before folding is over, I’ll just go buy Powerleap, I’ll probably be doing that in a few weeks anyways though. And if its proprietary PSU dies, there is a place in town where I can get a new one.

400 MHz Pentium III.

but the thing is i can't imagine them in 10 years still uing that to get the deadlines for the proteins because with the project being progressive, they are constantly trying to examine larger and larger proteins. keep in mind this is only speculation :D

Yes perhaps your right. When I get the Celeron 1.4Ghz Powerleap upgrade, it probably won’t matter very much by then.

::EDIT:: 400Mhz PIII? I thought the PIIIs started out at 450Mhz.

yeah i think/thought the same thing . i think stanford has it wrong on their page. i think they meant to put Celeron and goofed it ;)

I guess so, but I have seen Vijay say specifically that they use a PIII 400 to test the work units. Maybe we are all wrong and they meant to say PII 400.;) In which case, I can't imagine what kind of POS PII at 400Mhz takes almost 3 quarters of a month to do a P146.

We benchmarked these WUs in the same manner as before. Since machines
vary, there will be some variation in your CPU times vs ours. We test
on 400 MHz Celerons. I could imagine that Athlons have some
different relative timings.

I've asked this question before, but it's been a while. The current
WUs take 2 days on our 400 MHz Celerons. Would you guys like shorter
WUs? Say 0.5 day (1/4 the size)?

Since WU's take different amount of time, we've set the
deadline to how long it would take a 400 MHz Celeron if it was
spending 1/3 of the time crunching.

still i have heard p2 references but i have heard these the most and i think this is what they use, the celeron that is. i think vijay is confused;)

Thanks for clearing that up. So a Celeron@400 Mhz folding about 8 hours a day, will finish a P146 in 20 days. Its nice that they do it that way, so slower machines don't absolutely have to fold 24/7.
