different gauge wire

does it realy matter what gauge you use? im talking between like 20 and 24 etc.

my fan fires werent long enough to reach my baybus so i just up soem old 4pin molex wires and attached them to the fan wires i think one was 20 and the other 24 or 22 maybe

will this make any difference?

It shouldn't make much of a difference. The fan is a low current device, therefore doesn't need large wires. The more current a device requires the larger gauge wire you'll need.

i use the larger size wires all the time.
i have a small box full of them, salvaged from dead psu's. :D

i've never had any problems using them.
