hi, i have a 1.33ghz T-bird. i was just woundering why windows XP crashes at load when i set my FSB up to 140 instead of 133. the same thing happens to my friend. does my CUP need "unlocked"? are there known problems with windows XP and overclocking? i think my friend use to be able to overclock when he was using windows 98se......

I know that it is best to be a stock when you are installing XP. Other than that, someone else will know more.

Welcome to the forums sbdjaro if you can provide us with some more info such as your motherboard, cpu temps, memory, and so on we will be able to give you some better advice.

As for the 1.33 tbird I have one and I believe that they came from the factory unlocked at least I know mine did. In any case you do not need to unlock your cpu to overclock via the fsb, unless you want to change your multiplier.

i have the MSI K7T Turbo Lite 3 motherboard, 2 128 sticks of micron pc133 and 1 256 stick of Kingston pc133, my idle temp is 52c (soon to upgrade to the glaciator 2 heatsink and a Lian Li pc-65 case). when i change the multiplyer to 10.5 X 133, it says i have an 800mhz cpu.......

All the 1.33's are unlocked. What is your stepping? What are your cpu and ambient temps? Check on them in the bios then post what you get.

Im not really going to do some "major" overclocking. I might when i get a new case ans heatsikfan. i just wanted to know why i cant overclock it just a little.... for like 1 boot just to see higher speeds and stuff.
