Hey ppl,

I am going to be helping a friend of mine with his comp and he wants to oc his athlon 850, it is also on stock cooling as well so I am not expecting anything significant. Questions: WHat temps do I have to be in remembering it is stock hsf and around what oc would I be expecting? And what is the stock voltage on this and what would be safe on this cooling Also this proc was the pencil trick yes? Soryy never had tbird, went k62 400-d900-xp1700. Just a bit of a jump each time.

He is a panel beater so I am helping him out with his computer and he is going to be working on my car, sweet deal huh! I think he wants to rip dvd's as well, I know this is possible casue I use to on my duron 900 but it still will take a fair while

Anyway thanks in adv.

Ok I had an 850 many moons ago so bear with me as I try and recall. I believe the highest overclock I could get out of it was around 970 stable. This was with a decent hsf although I don't remember which one I now it wasn't stock. My temps at full load where around 45C. I don't recall the stock vcore but I believe it was 1.775 but agian I'm not sure.

What kind of mobo does your friend have that will most likely be the determining factor in how much you can get out of his chip.

Good luck.
