I just ordered an XP 1800+ which will replace the old 1ghz t-bird.
I was waiting for the t-bred or barton but now I gave up.
Btw the 1800+ costs the same as the 1600+ here so this was the cheapest one.
I figured that this was a good move.
Now if the t-breds or bartons turn out good then I can upgrade later keeping my socket a platform for a long time until i buy new stuff without feeling like an ******* wasing money for nothing.
I think this will save me a lot of money and I think this would be good for many other users feeling like upgrading.

Well, I guarantee you that 1800+ will last sometime, at least till the 64bit CPUs come out. I find it pointless to upgrade to the T-Bred right now as they only overclock half as good as the AGOIA/AROIA. 400mhz on heavy cooling and mad voltage, while the AGOIA can do like 400mhz on 1.85v and regular cooling. The Barton are going to be NEXT YEAR. So it's along wait and upgrading to the T-Bred is pointless ATM, a 200-300mhz difference for such a huge price difference isn't worth it.

Yeah i think so too, even the xp2000+ are expensive.
The 1800+ costs about 90$ here and the 2000+ which only fiffers 133mhz costs 150$. thats a lot of money for a little performance.
And in this case the xp2000+ is still cheap compared to the 2100+ which is about 210$.
I'll be happy for along time now and when the last socket a proc comes out it WILL be in my machine.
I'll be better off with a videocard upgrade since that gives you so much more.

Congrats on the upgrade.

I actually upgraded (or downgraded) from a XP1700+ to a XP1600+.
Could only get 1650MHz out of my XP1700+.
Got my XP1600+ flying high though.

My upgrade path will be more fun, I love my Duron 1300 and couldnt be happier with performance, when the newer AMD chips come out I will simply buy the highest Athlon XP my board will run (currently the Athlon XP 2200+) for the low price that it will be, and use that for a long while. I love AMD CPU's!
