Hey all, i got bored so i decided to mess with my Vantec PC Ventilator!

first i took my ventilator

seen here

i then dissasembled it and had the 2 shafts with fans on the end.

i then cut slits along the bootm of them to allow the ram to fit inside
of them. i then superglued the 2 halves together.

my plan was to have a push pull config but when i tried to put it on
a capacitator was in the way and my damn GF4 ti4600 was too long for
the other side's fan to fit.

i then began to hack away again, cut the fan off one side, then i cut some more
away to make room for the capacitator.

i turned up with this finished product :p

i then put it in my rig and it fits great!

here are some pics of my new cooler in action :p

well that's it! i wish i had some temp probes to test the before and after. right now i have it pushing air through
the tunnel.

***Please don't try to market this as I have sent in for a patent and will be sending e-mails to manufacturers soon***
hehe :D

I haven't seen too much showing that actively cooling ram is very effective: have you seen any improvements in speed/memory timing?

It doesn't seem right to me that cooling ram WOULDN'T help, so I am interested in your results...

Good idea:) So tell us how well it works now!

hehe, i don't think it does anything performance wise, it does look cool though :D

I have a 90mm fan over my rimms and it lets me overclock them another 5mhz.

rimms being rdram, i think that is different as they got hot
