I just got ahold of a 4gig carvair HDD and I want to put ME on it just for benchmarking. Right now I have XP installed on my 30gig ntfs formatt.
How would I go about hooking this drive up and loading Me on it? I have Fdisked it and it reads as E drive in XP, but no mater what I do I cant get ME on it. I am prolly missing something simple, right?

I have the second drive set as primary slave right now also.
Any help will be appreciated

Has the drive been formatted and if so is it formatted using FAT32 or NTFS as you will not be able to install ME on a NTFS drive

K, you have the correct setup for the drives, master and slave. Now what you want to do is partition the 2nd drive as primary partition since every drive at least needs 1 primary partition. After you do this, just install windows me onto the 2nd hard drive, the windows will take care of the formatting process for you. Then install all drivers/software, and you're all good to go. Just for you to know. This is what os's can read what.

3.1 - fat16
95 fat16 (fat32 osr2 release)
98 fat16/fat32
NT ntfs4.0 (can read ntfs5.0 with SP2) - fat16 (not fat32)
2k ntfs5.0 but can read ntfs4.0
XP same as 2k

I showed you this incase you decide to do formatting manually and would like to know what's compatible with what.
