Nice OC buddy :) . But I've noticed a few odd things here. SuperPi for one. Your time at 1M is 1 min 15 secs. Should be way faster than that, mine's 59 secs. at ~3 Ghz (aircooled with a low noise fan too). I don't think RDRAM is that much faster. Maybe your cpu is throttling, although with your cooling that does sound very odd (to say the least). Also your SiSandra MIPS looks a bit low, while MFLOPS looks ok. Both your SiSandra CPU-MM results look like "they should", compared to mine at least. Here you have my SuperPi SS:

My mem is @ the slowest setting

2.5-3-3-7....perhaps that's why my score is lower than your.

Now about MIPS....that's what i get

Yeah the SiSandra MIPS score can really fluctuate quite a bit, so I wouldn't worry too much about that either, but the SuperPi thing I really don't get. From 59 secs to 75 secs, thats 25% slower with a ~150 Mhz faster cpu. That is just really odd

hehe, i beat you with my poor system!!!
the first is fast as yours
http://digilander.libero.it/DirtyPunker/1600@3015.JPG

the second is the winner
http://digilander.libero.it/DirtyPunker/1800@3032.JPG :D

the first is at 1:1 cas 2.5-5-2-2
the second at 3:4 cas 2.5-6-2-2 (~226mhz)
mobo Abit it7 voltmod
vddr about 2.85
watercooled with Lunasio RS

:D :p

LOL, you sure did. That's one really nice o/c on a 1.8 too :D Only goes to prove that PASOS should be able to finish the darn thing in like <55 secs.

yes, but don't change anything... :(
there is no difference between winxp with normal interface and poor interface ;)

i test closing explorer and another service (free 20mb of ram), but change nothing :(

but 1:15 it's damn hight. At 2560 and ram at 3:4 with the 1600, i do 1:06!!! (like 2750 ram 1:1)

for a 3ghz 1:15 it's normal only if you have sdram!!! :D

Yeah, I may try that later on tonight. Maybe I could shave off a second or 2 there as well :D I've got antivirus/firewall, logitech keyboard/mouse stuff etc. all running in the background. Now while I try to improve my SuperPI, I'd like to see his Prime95 benchmark and 3DMark results :D Or how about an SiSandra memory benchmark :p

Dirty_Punk
08-06-02, 07:53 AM
for 3dmark i have a poor kyro 1 videocard!!! i have no money (i prefer to spend it elsewere, in chiller or plet soon) and i'm not interested to do a record (with 3dmark), i'm only interested to overclock cpu because i'm testing waterblocks, so great videocard isn't needed.

In the test pc i don't have internet at all, so i have downloaded (from work) prime95 but it won't works with'out internet.
This evening if you want i try with all the interface option enables and show that there isn't any improve/decrease in performance. Now i'm at work and i can't.

The winxp is also just installed, with no application in background (it's only a test machine, i don't use it a lot)

i don't know what are you meaning of sandra membench

Dirty_Punk

probably you can take 1s closing it, but not sure. I have tried superpi with hwmonitor monitoring active, and there is no difference in performance.

The memory usage in teh system don't change so much in superpi, an application running continuosly in background maybe yes

(PS: sorry for my english, i'm italian!! :p )

Dirty_Punk

here you can se in an old shot that my cpu at 2996 do 58s with all active
http://digilander.libero.it/DirtyPunker/58s.JPG

so it's normal to do 1 second lower with 40mhz in cpu and 8mhz in ram, but if you think that i'm laying i'll post the 57s with interface options on... :argue: :p

Hey, no problemo :D I'm Danish, so don't mind my french either; LOL. I'm about to strap on the 'ol Delta EHE fan. I'm running mine at 2.9 with a 2000 rpm fan for everyday use, I can't stand the noise of the Delta for too long...;)

Dirty_Punk
08-06-02, 11:56 AM
see this (http://digilander.libero.it/DirtyPunker/1800@3032TOTAL.JPG)

this is the 57s shot with normal interface, and some sandra test
the memory test has no mmx/sse options selected, so to have a 3000mhz or a 2000mhz doesn't change the result (elsewere your memory bench will be always highter than mine because you have a 3100 and i a 3000)

i've done 58s with the 1600@3060, but no shot for now, i'm working on it ;)

Dirty_Punk

the disk bench is so low... why???

Turbo
08-06-02, 12:14 PM
Hmm, can't get below 58 secs  Anyway, I'll have to learn to live with that :D ;)

Dirty_Punk

to go under 58s you must have great memory bandwidth. Another italian, DDA, with a 2260@~3080 with 4:5 on memori can hit 57s with the 4g4a+ (that has more memory bandwidth than my IT7). Now i'm in race with he ti hit 56s, but both are stopped by OVP of the mobo, no vcore over 1.88!!! :( (only for test, in normal use i use 1600@2700 or 1800@2700 both at ~1.6v)

Turbo
08-06-02, 12:21 PM
It's probably my memory latency (I've got RDRAM) that's killing me. I'm not exactly suffering in the bandwidth department. Also, it could just be the rounding up/down of the numbers that make the difference seem bigger than it actually is. Here's a memory shot for ya' :)

Dirty_Punk
08-06-02, 12:23 PM
wow!!! mega bandwidth!!!!!! can you uncheck mmx/sse options in memory module, so i can compare with my memory bench?! tnx!!

Turbo
08-06-02, 12:50 PM
Sure. I've taken the Delta out though and put my low noise fan on again, so here's one at 2.9 Ghz/170 Mhz fsb, rdram at 3x. At 3034 Mhz it would probably be just over around 2040/2100. With mmx/sse/sse2 enabled I get around 3530/3528 at 170 Mhz fsb, which is about 200/200 less then at 178 Mhz fsb.

Dirty_Punk
08-06-02, 12:54 PM
great bench!!!! i can't past 1800, i arrive only at ~1770 with 170fsb 3:4 cas latency 2.5-6-2-2 at 2.86v :( (it's good for a ddr, but not enought for me!!! :D ). Now i'm doing burnin!! :D
