I was helping a friend reformat his 60 gig hd that is partitioned into 3 sections. For some reason, my secondary harddrive's letter was between the first and the second partition. I accidentally reformatted my own hd! I remember that the company that made the recovery program Lost and Found released the full version for anyone to download for free. Does anyone still have the link or can point me to any other programs?
Thanks

That was me. It was just a non functioning demo. The product was called Lost & Found by PowerQuest. They no longer sell/support the product.
I have seen these deoms. They show, but they do not repair

Sounds like we had a learning experience. :D
I smile because I've done the exact same thing. It's just funny when you think about it. Why would MS set up drives on 9x systems like that? You'd think it would organize by drive, and THEN partition, but no, that'd be too f-ing easy, right? RIGHT!?
You could send it to a data recovery service, but they'd more than likely charge you big bucks for it. If you're looking for software that is no longer sold/suported, you could try Ebay, or another re-reseller. And then there's always P2P...
Let me understand this, you want to format a friends hd and you put your hd in his puter? (why?) and then you proceded to format your hd?
I just went though something similar (dead MBR and FAT) only a week or two ago! Out of the three programs I demoed, R-Studio did the best job of finding the files. It comes in three versions, one for FAT, one for NTFS, and one for both. Unfortunatly, the program is a little expensive... 49.99 for the FAT version. But my hard drive was WELL worth it. I'd die if I didn't have my data back!!
The other two programs I tried were GetDataBack and ZAR Zero Assumption Recovery. I think GetDataBack is pretty good too, but I could never get it to detect all 12GB of my drive for some odd reason (same with ZAR).
