After a month of working on this on and off, its finally 90% done.
I also did up a "how to" if anyone is interested. I tried to keep the same theme as my case (see below). If I manage to plug this back in I'll get a screenshot of it actually working, in case someone has the heebeegibies about trying it. Only thing I have to say about trying this is be safe. The inner edge of the metal shell is razer sharp. Im not talking about the part you cut with the dremel either. I have 4 fingers that can attest to that.
The 2 black wires you see will be connected to a switch to control the UV LED. <--- which provide somewhat near UV light. If you want UV reactive paint to glow bright, I suggest purchasing a small UV cathode, and layering the paint. Meaning applying several coats one after another giving plently of time for each coat to dry.

Edit: Moving files from OC server to my isp host. Some of the pictures distorted.

Finally plugged it back it to burn some MP3's. All I had was a 24x cd laying around, so I had to burn it at 24x. Im sure at full speed it would have finished the job. Didn't notice any unusual noises, or vibrations. Its actually much quieter than the cd-rom I put in my case while this was being modded.

Just a screen-shot of the birth of another MP3 cd for my car:

I gotta say this is by far the best CD-RW or DVD mod I've ever seen in my life. One of the greatest all around mods also.

I have a small question though: What tools did you use to paint the etching? You gotta have a very small brush and a steady hand to do that.

Well I used a dremel with a small etching blade. Maybe .5mm not sure. It was small enough so when I drilled the holes for the uv led with it, it was a tight fit getting the two little prongs through the holes i made. I also used a large 1mm etching blade for the larger details.
And yes I swallowed my pride and went to Michaels to pick up the paint brush. It was the only store I knew of that had them in the size I needed. Just look for a very very fine brush, and you should be "fine". The uv picture above was taken after only one coat of paint purchased at clearneon. I applied two more coats to give it a brighter glow.
The artwork isnt mine, it was drawn by someone that goes by the marking "T". I enlarged the picture and made some small changes so that it would look good as an etching.
I taped the picture under the plexi and went to town on it.
All it takes is a steady hand, and tracing the lines. If you try this remember to clean the blade very often, or it will just melt plastic and not cut. Also don't go to deep. All you need is just enough depth, so that the grooves can be filled in with paint, and be seen in daylight.

I finally figured out how to host my own pictures. Hopefully everything is running off of my web space now :)

Is there a limit to how many pictures you can have per post?

Also starting to mod my PSU now. Im probably just gonna paint it gloss black, add some gold fan grills over UV painted fans. Then maybe cut off the vertical air vents in the back and replace it with wire mesh or small chicken pin wire thats painted gold. Or another window with some groovy etching. All of which will be visible from either side of the case. Maybe after a few more:beer: I'll have an answer.

Ok starting Version 2.1. I got rid of the puney UV LED, and made room for something with a larger motor.
