CCFL spliceing

If i bought 2 100mm CCFLs and splices them in series would i be able to run them off one inverter or would i have to run them in parallel? I understand electronise fine but i just figured if one inverter can run a 300mm CCFL why cant it run two 100mm ones in series.

Humm........ well i have seen it done.. but the CC were dimm....... its like its not enough amps or something.........

The inverter is not powerful enought to run two. Also for some reason when ever i have spliced the wires from the tube to the inverter it has always dimmed even with only one light.

what if i build my own inverter. would that work? If it is dimmer when just spliceing i would try soldering the joint.
