I figured out that it was my nic that was crashing my pc. Sisosandra said that my pci latency was too high. How can I fix it?

in your bios.
you should check with sandra the latency other pci devices are running at since it seems like the device driver can set its own latency.
i have the nic running at a latency of 128 while the other pci devices at 32 cycles. changing it from the bios wont change the latency the nic uses, unless there is a problem with sandra reading it.

the bios will not let me change the pci latency. Any other thoughts?

what you mean? didnt you find it in bios?

that would be a negative. the only latencysettings I found were for my ram.

And sandra says that the only thing with a latency problem is my nic.

then you are prolly going to need WPCREDIT to do it. the software will let you to change the mainboard settings and the ones you havent available in bios.
its not easy to play with it though.

as i said, device drivers seem to take control over the pci latency timer so changing it from WPCREDIT might not fix it.

check the latencies other pci devices are running at, not sandra tips. btw, what is it on the nic? 128?

same prob here.. sandra reports my built in lan as 128... ecsk7vta3 v3 ... no adjustements in the bios either
