crosswire connections??

anybody have anylinks for how tos in connecting two comps via a cross wire cable and two nics?? is there any difference between using this and a switching hub?? i mean as in file sharing and internet sharring??

sorry no links but it doesnt make no difference with this and a hub. the only difference is u can only connect 2 pcs. file sharing, and internet will work just the same. Only thing is that the PC with the internet connection will need 2 nics. or if the modem plug in via USB then only 1 nic is needed.
