He took the whole thing apart, rivet by rivet, then after the plating was done he put it back together.
His father owns a polishing shop and through that he knows a lot of plating shops. He told me that he got a good deal on it.

I'll keep nagging him about the cost.

WOW that looks nice! I just dont like that Gold/Red combination, maybe its the way the photos came out, but other then that, really nice!

He better have gottin a deal on that, I know from experience that gold plate is NOT cheap...

Hey Buddy, I finally registered. I like the pics of my box that you posted even that its not finished, I,ll have to get it done now so everyone can see the finished project and then I will answer questions. I will also find pics of the 1st one and post them. Later boB.

Reading about your kickass case made me think (Some thing that isn’t normally done out side of fantasizing about chicks :))How hard would it be to design and have made front bezels (Sp?) for CD-ROM drives that were the material of your choice? Like instead of cutting up a Lian Li front bezel you could have it made at a shop... I have a friend with a shop, I just am not sure how hard it would be to get it so it was basically the same as the one on the CD right now... You know, click the tray piece off, then the front plate, and then snap your own on...

Anyone have ideas about having these designed?
