View Full Version : What is the best fan and heatsink for a msi K7T Pro 2A Socket A 462?
Hello,
I'm running a Duron 700 overclock at 850 at 29.8 degrees C. at Idle and about 32 degrees C after playing Motor Cross madness.
Anyways, I was wondering which fan and heatsink would cool better than my Thermaltake fan (this fan looks just like the chrome orb)?
Also which site is the best to go to to buy it?
Thanks, Jerry Buggss@MSN.com

I'm not convinced by those temps - 32C max is extremely low for a duron at default speed, add to that the overclock and the fact that you're using an orb, and I suspect you're getting inaccurate readings. Still, if it works, it works. A better hsf would definitely be the globalwin FOP38, the alpha PEP66 or the new swiftech 462 (though it's damned expensive!) :-)

Rob Cork is correct, those temps sure looks to good to be true.
I own a GlobalWin FOP32-1 and it does a very good job. I have a thunderbird 1.1 non-clocked and my idle is 40c to max load of
47c. Before that a had the Thermaltake orb with max temp of 52c. So it was a nice decrease for me and by the way I always use the one and only Artic Silver Compound as my paste of choice!
yup the fop 32-1 should do it. It can be had for $18, check out my new favorite cooling store www.coolerchips.com (http://coolerchips.safeshopper.com)
