I guess they're full of surprises. After hitting 1870MHz (11x170)
I thought that was the max for my cpu on air.
I let it burn in for about a day at 1.85v and this afternoon I was able to get it to 1892MHZ (11x172). Still have it on prime95 torture test to make sure it's stable.
My goal is to hit 1.9GHz (just 8mhz away) on air. Wish me luck.

Luck! What are your temps at that speed?

42-43c running prime95. I keep my room temp at 18c-19c and w/ 80mm and 120mm Sunon fans on my side cover blowing cold air directly onto my cpu, memory and vid card, heat is of no concern.

First off all, it's a brand new mobo, only had it 4days so I don't wanna mess w/ the warranty for now.
But when I do decide to, do youy have a links to the vmod?

Check the sig.
Removable, no soldering required. Awsome kit.
Yeah, I'm at 1875 right now at 1.8 V burning. And my temps are 41 C with no AC at all (I'm breaking a slight sweat in my place so I'm guessing ambients are 26-27 C). I love my new heatsink! At night/in the morning it loads around 36-38C. Man, I'd like to see what this would do in the wintertime (even though SF barely gets colder).
If I vmod 1.9 is almost certain. Man, at first I only wanted 1800 with this chip, now I'm hoping 1900+! These 1600's ARE amazing.

hehe i dont know how your ears can take it i am still trying 1790mhz i can play games for hours and it seems stable but prime says it isnt after 5 hours!
Heh, yeah I guess I'm just used to the noise. It's really not much louder than what I had before cuz I have a SVC Golden Gate 40 on my GPU. 40 CFM YS-Tech 60mm fan @ 8300 RPM. That's worse than the Tornado!

hehe. the worst thing ever for me was the delta 50cfm 60mm.
first time i ever built a computer, comin from dells and gateways i never knew computers would have fans that loud.... so i popped on the 50cfm on my trusty sk6 and the second i turned on my first computer i ever made, i dropped to the floor cause i thought we were being bombed! (was a little after 9/11) not a joke!
omfg i had that thing for one day, then switched to a coolermaster 36cfm for a little while, which still had a whine to it, then i switched to the alpha with 50cfm sunon which was muchhhhhh better
Oh God I've heard the 50CFM delta 60mm are astonishingly loud. Not only loud, but high pitched too. The Vantec is pretty thunderous with the case door off, but once it's on the sound is cut like 75%, but the high pitched 60mm penetrate. With my case door on it's really not that bad. I can hear every click of my keyboard no problem, and it's not even one of those 'clicky' keyboard. With the case door off it's like five or ten hair dryers going at once.
