I have an 800 and want to know that if I unlock the L1 bridges
will I be able to get it to 1 Gig ? This mobo has only 2 settings in Bios 800 or 1000 and no jumpers. Mobo: PC Chips 810

Its hard to say if you will be able to do 1 GHz. It seems like most Spitfires will overclock 200 MHz. Either way you don't have anything to lose by unlocking it.

I wouldn't have to change any of the other bridges would I ?

Nope, All you have to do is connect the L1 bridges. Its not risky in the scheme of things.

Um, I used to use a pcchips m810lmr, and you can't change the multi even with the overclocking bios, so unlocking your chip isnt going to do any good at all.

Disagree, it does do you good. PC Chips is a bad board and I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't change the multiplier. You mentioned your using a overclocked bios meaning it's not offical so adjusting multipliers may not even work. I don't know what motherboard you use, but the multiplier would help since the KT133's would not take fsb's over 115. The 800 usually got to 1gig, so I'm guessing you can as well as your cooling looks good.

I don't know what the PCchips 810 has in the way of options but if you can't set a specific multiple in BIOS or with jumpers/switches you can selectively close and open L1 bridges to trick the chip into thinking it has a different default multiple. My Spitfire does 1053 at 1.85v, at 2.05v I've gotten it to 1155mhz, it may have gone higher but the heat was too much so I backed off until I can get my water setup complete. My stepping is AKCA Z. If youve got AKCA or AKBA it should hit a gig.

Well I got this up to 1066 but this mobo won't start at that speed. What a freakin rip for 66 Mhz. Can I change the multiplyer on the bridges and if so which one would I change? Right now the multiplier is at 10. If I could get it to 9 I'm sure it would kick
it off at say 950 or so. Heat won't be an issue cause it has an AX7 on it and it's running at 36C..

I don't have the link anymore myself but I have seen the article and know it does exist. Sorry. Somebody else has gotta have it here. BUMP.

What i meant was that you can't adjust the multi through the bios, official bios or not. And i thought that's what he meant he wanted to do by unlocking it. You could adjust the multi through bridges, but that's not what it sounded like he was gonna do.

That's what I was saying that you can't change them in Bios you have to do it on bridges. The pencil worked great on the L1's now if I'm not mistaken I got like 66.5 Mhz on each one so now I need to know which one to erase to make 950 or so.
If that won't work then which L7's would I have to pencil instead of changing the L1's ?
