Has anyone tried these fans yet? thermaltake smart fan 2. I have 2 of the first series.

http://www.thermaltake.com/products/dcfan/a1357.htm

17 dB & 20.55 CFM at 1300rpm
48 dB & 75.7 CFM at 4800rpm

Would these work as while as a Vantec 84.1cfm but with a little less noise?

Also would these work good as case fans 2x front 2x back of sx1040b?

Thanks,
BWCorvus

although i havent tested this exact model, i have tested their volcano 7 with the temp controlled fan. basically that is the exact same thing as what u saw, but only the small senor that u see near the fan. This new model has a prob that u can stick anywhere. I belive this will work much better since u can get it as close to the core as possible, or just stick it to the HS.
When using the previous model, the fan wouldnt really spin at full speed. See my cpu put off alot of heat and would be at core temps of 55c but my fan would never kick in high gear cuzz case temps were still cool, below 35c. Had the prob been on the HS, i belive it would get the idea that the core was hot and kick the fan into high gear.
I bought a AX478 and the volcano 7 fan with heat senor. I thought it would be quiet at idle, then cool off the HS at load. but it wasnt... My case never got hot so it stayed at low speed all the time. even when my core was burning at 60c. So what did i do? buy another fan? NO... i just cut the thermal senor off, and crimpped the 2 wires together, and used a fan speed controller. The thermal senor is just a resistor that when gets hotter it allows more current.
So i guess yes, this may be a decent fan. But if it doesnt do what u want, then u can always get a fan speed controller.

It has a built in option for manuel control, something the first smart fan didnt, or am i misreading the Functions? Also it says u can attach the temp sensor to ur cpu or heatsink, or is that not a good idea?

Function 1
Full Speed 4800 rpm

Function 2
Full speed 4800 rpm
Temp. control
Fan Speed Auto Control Setting: 1300rpm at 20 ºc 4800rpm at
55 ºc
Temp. Sensor attach to CPU or Heatsink

Function 3
Adjustable Manual Fan Speed Control From 1300 rpm to
4800 rpm

I say get one. Temperature controlled, so when it starts to get real loud, you know you have a problem.:D

Oh, and
WELOCME TO THE MADDHOUSE!!!!!!!

isnt that what i said? btw that was not a smart (_._) remark. just pointing out that i already said that. I would stick it as close to the core as possible. maybe on the bottom of the HS, but not on top of the core ofcourse. I think TT realized that the V7 model had the flaw of the senor not reading close to core temps. Since it read case temps it wasnt going as fast as it should when the core heated up. IMHO tt is just comming out with alot of same stuff with alot of Makeup. It all performs the same just looks different.
