hey,
i have just built my new pc, everything was ok and i was setting up the BIOS. i got to the CPU FSB frequency and set it to 220mhz because on the processor box it says 266mhz FSB - im a newbie and i thought it was alright, however once i saved and exit the screen went off and i now get 4 red lights on my LED connector!
i am running a KT3 Ultra with an amd xp 2100+
what do i do!?
thanks jonny

I suppose you are using ddr memory. What you are doing is actually overclocking your cpu and that you set it way too high. Put everything back to factory setting then after you install everything then start overclocking a little by little. So start at 133 ddr =266. Also this is the wrong forum to post this question. Next time post it in the AMD forum, you'll probably get more replys.:)

Someone with the same problem.
You need to clear the CMOS. Check out the mobo owners manual for instructions. Next time, set that to 133!!

Well, you need to back off on your FSB to 133MHz, since you are running a DDR machine (133MHz * 2 = 266MHz). You've set the FSB to the maximum possible for the board, and it obviously can't handle this speed... usually overclocking is done in small increments so that stability can be gauged as you increase the speed ;) Good luck with your new system.
Two people posted while I was typing... man, you guys are fast around here... :D
would i have fried my cpu??
i am resetting the cmos now

No your CPU should be alright.
Next time try gradual increases of 2-3mhz at a time. 137,140, 143, 146 and etc. Do this until you have the same thing happen, then clear the Cmos and go back 3-4mhz. You should then be stable.
You also need to put your system specs in the signiture area. This will help when trying to answer question and such.
ok i have just reset the cmos and it seemed to be working again
it got to the POST screen and said that the CMOS settings are wrong - i definetly cleared it and moved the jumper back to the correct 1-2 setting - what do i do from here - just get into the BIOS set it up again - then will it be alright or what else?
Thanks
Jonny

I know your problem might seem ultra important but there is not a need to cross post 3 times.

Its not a problem, but forum moderators appreciate not cross posting because it saves space, and helps keep the forums organized.
But now ya know :)
