View Full Version : Where Could I Get A 1.1a From Phillipines?

I don't know how much longer I can wait for the new B stepping series to arrive. I am loving my 1.1a even though I haven't reached my imposed 145fsb.

Does anyone have any hookups as to where I "could" order a 1.1a made in the Phillipines? The place where I bought my 1.1a allowed to selectively pick one but they didn't have any Phillipines in stock. From the recently updated CPU database, even 150fsb looks possible with the Philly chip :D

At this point, I am very tempted to scrap my future P4 rig and just build an all out Celeron Tualatin rig :P

my week 16 philppines 1.1A posts at 150 fsb. but BSODs when loading windows. i think with better cooling (i was only using the intel hsf @ 1.80v :D) it might be able to do it.

how determined are you to get one?
there seems to be a few of them floating round in australia, but that would add significantly to the cost of it. lol

EDIT: i just read the updated cpu database. when i made my entry a week or so ago, it would've been the second highest one in there. seems a lot of people have been getting the 1.1A's. :p (it's now seventh :( )
i don't know who did that one at 1694mhz at 1.57v but it's not a philippines chip. the first number in the FPO/batch is 8, which is ireland, not philippines.

goodluck finding yourself a philippines chip anyway. :D

1.80V is too much. In my experience with Tualatins, anything over 1.725 or so detracts from stability. In my case it does.

As far as the Philippine chips, if you find a place that'll let you pick and ya get a good one, let me know!!!

that may be why it would crash into windows.

when i can be bothered again, i'm going to try a bit more fidling.
it's my main F@H machine, so i like to keep it's down time to a minimum. ;)

Why are you looking for a Phillipines chip? Do you think those OC better?

In the database, it appears these chips are relatively rare... for Northwoods at least.

he's talking about a tualatin 1.1 celeron. not a northwood.
northwoods aren't the only cpu's that o/c well. :D

the philippines chips do overclock better.
look at the number of philippines chips at the top of the tualatin 1100 section of the database.
