Hello,

I was given a P3 550 (non coppermine) and I ordered the A-Bit BF6 motherboard for it. I want to overclock it and Im just wondering what you guys would recommend I go with for a heatsink. I hear that the non coppermines run really hot. I would like to overclock it to at least 650, ideally 700. I was considering either the Vantec p3-5030 or the Alpha p3125. Vantec is way cheaper but could it get the job done? Maybe I could get more performance from the Alpha? What kind of case fans should I get? I will have 128megs of PC133 ram and a Voodoo3 2000 with just a normal sound card. (until I can newer ones) Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreceated.

Thanks,

Jim

p.s. Heres one other thing to think about...
If I could get to 650 with the vantec should I just save my money and get a 64meg Radeon or Geforce2? Cause I mainly use it for games.

Yes, your cpu should be good enough for another year, I personally think the Vantecs are over rated.
