In the US, in Skips basement. Dunno where exactly skip lives though.

Naperville, IL. Slighly southwest of Chicago. Nice neighborhood. He did have dual T1 lines, but dropped one of them last month.

You would only need one t1 for a web board like this though. I don't think that it has that much badnwith going through it at one time to really bog it down. Just a thought though.:rolleyes:

One of the L's is silent too. I can never remember which one. Marks me as a real outsider around these parts.

i always wondered why it starts with an l because most people pronounce it as elinoi.

You would be wrong. We actually use tons of bandwidth, because of the avs and attachments.

Thats a funny thing, I never really thought of the avitars using much bandwith, also it makes sense that all those attachments do have to come in through the line at some time. But I just thought that 1 t1 would cover the bandwith.

If I had my way then this site would have multiple ones, maybe a t3 or something because it is so popular. Some day, some day.;)

1 t3 is way more then 2 t1's.

The cost was $3000 per month for the dual lines. I think Skip said we were using about 70% of the total bandwidth. That would be all of one T1 and about a 1/3 plus of the 2nd. There are also some other sites that Skip was hosting, I do not know if he still is.

And it is pronounced Ill-in-oy, no matter how much the Chicago(another state) people mispronounce it.

3000 a month??? jeez broadband is freakin expensive in chicago.

i know a T1 line here in oklahoma city is about 850 a month and two is 1500 a month.

"ILL" + "Annoy"

Quite appropriate--wouldn't you agree?

Gee, I had no idea I was so close to these guys! After hearing about Ed and Joe being in NYC all the time, like living there and stuff, well, I just assumed that's where the whole shebang was.

Being from NW IN, I can give you guys a few more odd place-name pronounciations...

Hobart = Ho-bert
Merrillville = Mer-vil -or- Mer-i-vil
Schererville = Share-vil
East Chicago = Eesh-i-ca-go -or- E. C.
Hammond = Hammen
Indianapolis = Natives without red fruit

I think Skip works with Computers for a living anyway. The advertising brings in some money each month, but not much. And I think Joe and Ed will also contribute to site running costs.
