auto shut down when cooling fails

I leave my system on 24/7 and a simple monitor isn't enough if no one is there to see or hear it.

I am looking for a hardware monitoring program that will auto shut down my computer if my cooling system fails and the temps start to rise.

MBM used to let you use a program called ShutdownNow that would shut the coputer off if the temp hit a certain limit. I don't know if the program is still out there..... It was shareware and available from tucows for a long time

SHDN still exists. I just got it a few days ago. You can find a link on the MM site. There is a checkbox in MM to execute SHDN but it isn't enabled unless you first run SHDN. Then you can click it and pass SHDN a parameter. I haven't tried it yet to see if it actually does shutdown! Maybe just set the heat limit real low and run a game...

You ought to send this directly to the origional poster, since they are having trouble getting thier system to actually shut down....
