Ok i am going to order everything to set up my watercooling rig and i need some help. I will be running a resovour system basically cause i have no friggin clue how to set up a inline one.
Block: Swiftech Swiftech MCW462-U= $50
Now my question with that is should i get that or should i get a Dtek Spiral or TC4? How about a maze 3 ($15 cheaper)? anyone have any comments about the block choice?
Pump: Ehiem 1048
Where can i get this thing?
Heater Core: Dtek Cooler Core Combo Painted 1/2 barbs
Res: Dangerden Clear Res
I want to use 1/2" tygon tubing cause it looks really cool. Where is the cheapest place to get this stuff and how much do you think i will need?
Also, what type of clamps should i get? where should i get them?
Ok thanks a lot guys.

I suggest dropping the res, and upgrading to a 1250 ehiem pupm it's only like 10 bucks more...dangerden has them,.....
That's my advice

Ok about the pump how is this one:
http://becooling.safeshopper.com/20/152.htm?654
via aqua with built in res
the problem with the other ehiem is that i read that it creates a great deal of heat and is noisy. More heat and more noise reduces the point of a watercooling setup cause i would need more fans to cool it which would then in turn create more noise.
if somebody would like to explain to me how to setup a inline setup it would be appreciated but i dont know how to do it. i know how to fill it, just put the stuff in a tank of water and turn the pump on, but i dont know how to refill it or how to check for air bubbles.
oh yeah that brings me to another question how do i get the airbubbles out?

I have the eheim 1250 and I don't think its noisy at all. For getting the air bubbles out you get a t-fitting and a bleed line. It is very easy to bleed the system. You make sure the t-fitting is at the highest point in your loop and it will bleed your system automatically.

so this is how i would do a inline system? would i fill the thing by pouring water into the top of the "T fitting" also? Where would i get a cap for the top of the 1/2" tube also so the thing doesnt leak accidently or evaporate as easily?
also, i still dont know where to purchase the tygon tubing for cheap and what clamps to get with that....

Yeah, your drawing is right. Check out Hoot's Setup. (http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=48220&highlight=water)
For the clamps I'd head up to Home Depot or Lowes, they'd have some for cheap.

ok well i decided to get a Spir@l block and the ehiem 1048 pump unless somebody can give me a really really good reason to get the other ehiem thats more expensive.... i am only cooling the cpu not northbridge and gpu also.
i still need somebody to tell me where to ge tygon tubing and how much of it i need. Also what type of clamps do i get i need something more specific than the stuff at home depot.

go with the via aqua, you can't beat the price/performance with
a stick! kinda like an XP 1600+ :p
for Tygon, go to
www.mcmaster.com
type "tygon" in the search
go to PAGE 2
there you will find after scrolling down a bit, Lab grade 1/2 ID, 1/8 wall for 76pennies a foot!!!!
i ordered me and SSS same earlier today :D

starfox i cant seem to find the tygon tubing you are talking about. which one should i order for water cooling there is about 30 types!!!!!!
i typed in tygon into the search and there are two results, one is tygon hose and the other is tygon tubing.
i went to page two of both of them and i couldnt find the 1/2" tubing for .76 do you think you can give me the exact url of the page? (just right click and goto properties inside the frame)

also about the clamps how are the nylon hose clamps over at dtek? they are only $1/clamp so it is probably like $10 for all of the clamps

ok how does this look. they are all out of stock of the spiral so i am going to get the TC4 waterblock which also should perform good.
TC4 Pollytopped w/ 1/2" Fittings= $47
Cooler Core Combo Silver=$53
2 T Fittings=$1.65
2 1/2"-3/8" Reducers= $1.50 (purchased just incase and for future projects)
Via Aqua 370GPH Pump PreSetup=$22
Total= $129 not including shipping
The way i figure if the via aqua is getting really hot i could always just epoxy some heatsinks onto it.
To cool the system i have some 64CFM 32dba 120mm fans in the mail which i ordered from svcompucycle.com for only $7. i know the panaflows are much better but it was a $40 difference (i ordered a bunch of fans).
I still need to know about the tubing and clamps. Also, Dtek was all out of water wetter. will a pet shop have this stuff or do i need to order from another online shop? Also, if i add some food coloring to the water to dye it a certain color is this dangerous in ANY WAY? or do i need to order that expensive UV die from dtek?

I couldn't find that Tygon on that page either.
The clamps that you get from those places suck; honestly. I recommend getting screw-type clamps from like a Home Depot or something.
I would go with Purple Ice; it doesn't smell as bad (in fact, I didn't smell any of it when putting it in. ) :)

Look under tygon tubing and its on the 2nd page. On that second page, look for the food & lab section and you can find it there for .76. What a bargain!

Tygon looks really cool :-)
ummm.... ok i am about to order everything as listed above. the one question i have is for the fill/bleed line i am going to be making, where can i purchase a cap for it so the water does not evaporate as quickly and also so no dirt or anything manages to get into the system?
finally i would like to know about if there is any other way than buying the UV die to get the water blue (food coloring safe? how much?)

You can probably get a cap for tubing from a hardware store.
I believe food coloring is safe to use in the system.

as for the tygon
i posted link in cyber deals
don't know where to get a cap
as for water color
take a highlighter out of it's casing, so it's just that felt
with ink, and lit it sit in a gallon of water. then you can
shake it up how you feel and use that as your water.
works great!

ok guys i just ordered everything as mentioned aboe!
the total for all of the parts including shipping was $151. i did 3 day ups.... i would have done ground shipping but i am going on vacation in a week and did not want to risk the stuff not coming on time!
i am going to drive down to homedepot today to get those clamps and some paint for a case mod i am doing....
the weird thing is when i ordered from that place to get the tygon (i got 15 ft for only 11.50!) it did not tell me how much the shipping cost.... i hope it wasnt free shipping cause if it was i am a ****** and selected ground shipping (i live in MA and the place is in NJ so it will take like 4 days max to get to my house)...
i cant WAIT to set this thing up!!!! i wanna be able to run 2.2v on my cpu quietly!!! woohoo 1900mhz here we come!
