Are those things safe? I mean, it will be on its side, could that possibly break my new cpu thats supposed to be coming in...(AMD 1.2Ghz)?

I've never used one, but I suppose as long as its mounted properly, you should have no problem.

This article: http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/kanie_hedgehog-238m/ specifically addresses the weight issue. Basically, it is a lot heavier than the AMD rating, but if you're careful, it should work. You just won't be able to go crying to AMD if you do break it.

Would using a copper spacer help support the weight of this puppy..?
i read a review last year that adressed this very problem the auther`s solution throw a case off a building with on of the heavy weight`s installed to a duron, first on the front; then side and then the back ....the mother board stoped working but the duron was fine ;D
