I've noticed the clock gen on my A7V runs really hot as well. I've got no temp data right now(should by week's end), but I am definately trying to come up with something effective. I don't wanna have to cut up another heatsink(its such a pain), but I want something small enough to fit. Maybe a RAM cooler or two?
I'll be sure to post whatever I do finally work out.

joe has a great article on putting a tennmax bga cooler on the a7v's clock gen. look under the cooling section of the articles on the main page. i've done, and it works great.. nice copper cold-plate and a small p1 cooler do the trick just fine.

Radio Shack has a solid aluminum dram heatsink for like two bucks. what you can do is take a small amount of thermal paste in the center of the clock generator chip and apply a VERY THIN amount of super glue on the four corners of the chip to set it.

I was able to lower my core voltage to 1.65v on a cB0 700e and still run at 1022 mHz with the mod..ROCK SOLID...
